2. Do I have to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to participate at Escape The Movies?
No, you do not. However, we strongly recommend that you get vaccinated and boosted – for your sake and the ones whom you love.
4. What is Escape The Movies?
EscapeTheMovies is proud to be the first of its kind in Trinidad & Tobago and furthermore in the Greater Caribbean region. We’re a small family owned company started by the parents of three young kids who want to provide more opportunities for family entertainment.
Escape rooms are live-action, team-based games, where players discover clues, solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks in one or more themed rooms in order to complete a specific goal (usually escaping from the room) in a limited amount of time.
5. I can’t find you guys, where are you located?

6. Is there parking available at Escape The Movies?
There is ample parking available on the South Park Plaza compound. Most times there are spots in the car park outside our door.
7. What are the opening hours for Escape The Movies?
For the month of June 2022, we’re going to be operating flexible hours. Generally, we will be open from 3:00PM -7:30PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays; 3:00PM – 9:00PM on Friday and Saturday and 1:00PM – 7:00PM on Sundays. Contact us if you’re interested to see if we can accommodate you.
We are also open on select public holidays. Please check our reservation page for available days and reservation times. For private party and team building experiences, please contact us.
8. Are the escape room experiences scary?
An escape room is not a haunted house… so don’t expect it to frighten you or to have people jumping out to scare you (but we may do this occasionally for special holidays and events such as Halloween) . We do use sound effects, lighting and decorations that set an eerie atmosphere is some aspects of the games mainly in The Witching Hour escape room. Ultimately, the scariest element of our escape rooms is the battle against the clock.
9. How difficult are the escape rooms?
Within each room and game there are various puzzles and clues to solve – each will vary in difficulty based on the collective strengths and weaknesses of the persons participating. Each room and game has a theme and design appropriate for most ages and aims to accommodate a wide spectrum of skill levels and interests through group participation.
10. Are there age restrictions for the escape rooms?
1. Participants must be 5+ to participate in our escape room experiences.
2. Participants 5 – 16 years of age, an adult must be present in the room while playing. Participation will not be allowed otherwise.
3. Participants 17+ do not have to have an adult present in the room while playing.
11. Will I really be locked in a room? What if I really need to get out?
Due to safety precautions, while you may not be able to open the door to exit a room, you will never really be locked in a room. We will be in constant contact with everyone in the room and aware of everything happening inside via video and audio monitoring. In the event of any emergency inside or outside an escape room, there will be a “release button” near the exit door that you or any member of your team may press (but only in case of an emergency). Hitting this button will unlock the exit door so that you will have immediate access out of the room and our customer service representatives will ensure your safety and comfort. Please note if the “release button” is engaged during an escape room game, the experience will be ended with no refunds. It’s up to management to decide how best to proceed based on the circumstances.
12. Do I need a reservation to play and escape room?
Ideally, yes. We encourage you to book online ahead of time so as to secure an available spot due to the current demand of the various rooms.
13. How can I pay for my booking?
In light of COVID-19 and our updated policies for reopening, cashless payments such as bank transfers – either online deposits or deposits made at the teller. At this time linx and / or credit card payments cannot be facilitated.
In order to SECURE your booking all payments must be settled at least 72 hours (3 days) in advance of your scheduled booking. If you’ve made your booking within the 72 hour window, we still strongly recommend making a payment at the earliest convenience.
Banking details to make the advance payment is included in your booking email that is sent after you’ve made your booking with us. Please ensure to check your inbox or junk / spam folder in case it may have been sent there by accident. Once a payment has been made, please send us a screenshot of the e-receipt transaction or a photo/scan of the deposit slip to [email protected]
14. How long does the whole escape room experience take?
Each escape room game lasts 40 minutes. We need 15 minutes before each game to go over the instructions. Late arrivals will result in game time deduction. Please note that you will be charged the full amount for the experience regardless of deducted time. After the game, you can take pictures in the designated photo taking areas and your Customer Service Representative will chat with you about your specific gaming experience. The whole event lasts about 60 minutes tops.
15. How long before my scheduled time for an escape room booking should I arrive?
We kindly request that all customers ARRIVE 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the game so that the experience can end at the predetermined time. There’s a game brief prior to the start of all escape games that lasts roughly 10 – 15 minutes in which our staff will go over all the Do’s and Do Not’s with customers.
16. What if I am running late for my escape room booking?
We kindly request that all customers arrive on time for their scheduled start time – In light of COVID19 we have catered in extra time for thorough sanitation procedures after each experience and must keep on the schedule set to ensure all our customers get their full time unaffected. Late arrivals that affect the schedule will result in deducted game time or cancellation, no exceptions.
It is best to contact us via phone to let us know in advance that you will be late for your escape room reservation. Depending on the schedule for the day, your reservation will be held for as long as possible. Please note after a grace period your game time will be deducted to not affect other reservations. After a significant window of time has passed, the game will be cancelled and an alternative game will only be offered at management’s discretion if there are extenuating circumstances – such a sinkhole on the highway ;-).
17. Are there waivers to fill out for the experience?
The waiver link will be sent in advance via the booking email to the primary contact (person who made the booking). That person is responsible for sharing the waiver’s e-link with other members of the group. All waivers must be completed before arriving at location for the scheduled booking.
18. I paid for my reservation in advance but have to cancel now. Can I get a full refund?
We have a strict NO REFUND POLICY, all sales are final once payment is made. All payments must be settled at least 72 hours in advance from your scheduled booking. No shows, late arrivals and cancellations will be charged. No exceptions.
19. What are the rules for people under the influence of legal drugs or alcohol?
Although some things might be more fun under the influence of mind-altering substances, we don’t think this is one of them. Having a clear mind actually makes this activity more enjoyable. We do not tolerate substance abuse and have a zero tolerance for customers attempting to participate while under the influence of any mind-altering drug other than caffeine or prescribed medication. If any member of our staff observes that you or a member of your party are noticeably impaired, we reserve the right to deny entry and/or ask for the person under the influence to leave without refund. This applies to any and all substances, not just alcohol.
20. Will other people be in the escape room?
Yes this is possible unless you book the entire room.
21. How many people can play at once?
Our regular bookings on weekends require a minimum of 6 players per room, with a current maximum of 10 players.
22. What if my group is larger than the maximum occupancy of an escape room?
We can accommodate a maximum group of 30 people, with two groups of 10 playing each room on rotation. The maximum in a game room at any given time is 10 persons.
23. Is the cost of team building and / or private party experiences the same as regular experiences?
Please note cost vary depending on the experience booked. Our regular rate does not apply to our Team Building and / or Private Party experiences.
24. My business does company gatherings, do you offer Team Building exercises for company outings?
We do offer Team Building services, we’ve hosted a number of businesses – large and small – throughout the years and they have benefit from the experience. Not only will it be unparalleled with respects to adrenaline pumping fun, it is also a valuable experience for comradery with coworkers, and an insightful observation of your team’s strengths. We can design a bespoke package that exclusively accommodates your group’s size, budget and needs and offer any or all of our in-house experiences and facilities upon request. 25. I am planning a party; what services do you guys offer?
Whether it be a birthday, anniversary, gaming night or any other social gathering we are certainly a fun filled destination that provides a unique gaming experience you can’t get anywhere else. Feel free to contact us to further discuss.
26. Are there any medical conditions under which I should not participate in an escape room?
While most of our escape rooms attempt to cater for everyone, there are certain pre-existing medical conditions which we advise be considered before participating. Persons that fall under with any of the following or others can contact or visit us prior to participation to inquire on possible risks:
• Chronic physical injuries or ailments (e.g. neck, back or leg injuries or ailments, asthma, etc.)
• Acute ailments or sensitivities to noise, light, smoke, small spaces or other triggers
Please note that participation is completely up to you. Since there are elements in our escape rooms that may startle you, or require some minor physical exertion, or expose you to certain sensitivities, we would recommend that you consider all the factors and use your best discretion. In every case, however, during your visit, we will ensure your care and safety to the best of our ability and ensure that everyone has a great and safe time.
27. Is Escape The Movies wheelchair accessible?
Sorry, currently our escape rooms do not facilitate wheelchair accessibility.
28. How does the escape room leader board work?
If your team is able to escape from one of our rooms in record time without using any hints and beat one of the current times displayed for the experience you participated in you may qualify for our leader board. Our leader board displays the five best times by team for each of our rooms. Teams which qualify for the leader board will have ultimate bragging rights.
29. Do you offer gift certificates for escape rooms?
Yes, we do. Escape The Movies has a range of available gift certificates to suit your needs. Currently purchasing of gift certificates is only available directly at our branch locations. Please note that all gift certificates are valid for six (6) months from date of purchase. For more information, please visit our page on gift certificates.
30. I was gifted an Escape the Movies gift certificate. How do I redeem it?
First you need to make a booking with us via our website. Click here to book, if you already haven’t. On the day of your booking, you present your gift certificate at reception. Must be the original that was bought, soft copy version will not be accepted. The price value of the gift certificate will be accepted as payment to participate in our escape room experience, once it’s within its six (6) month validity period.
